Yeah, getting lazy. Exam period began a week back, and I’m currently busy prepping (which is apparently a good time to update the blog).
A few things to look forward to:
1) I’M AN UNCLE!!! Wei Lin, my eldest sister, gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Benjamin Lim on the 22nd of March (CONGRATS GUYS!!! :D ). My biggest regret was not being able to be at his side ;_; Damn my requirement to obtain a higher level of education!!!
2) I went to Sydney during my Easter Break this year, and while it has been awhile since the trip, I’ve already uploaded the pictures onto FaceBook (and will be stealing quite alot of them from some of the other guys on the trip :3), so all that’s left would be for me to link the pictures here and to actually write the post on what happened during the trip (5 days long, so it’s not that hard to remember what happened despite how long it has been since the trip).
3) I just installed the Windows 7 Release Candidate about a month ago, and it’s pretty much the closest to perfect version of Windows out in the market (inb4 OSX IS BETTAR WINDOWS SUX / USE LINUX IT’S FOR REAL COMPUTER GEEKS etc etc etc). I’ll try and make a post about the features and the particular bits that I like. Here’s a screenshot (as usual, click on it to reveal a larger image, though I should warn you that the full sized image is also big in terms of space [3mb if I recall correctly]):
4) I also just installed Ubuntu on my computer in order to try out a Linux operating system for once. Also a fun and fresh experience for me, I’ll post some screenshots of the system in action as well as related features and whatnot when I have the time (after exams).
5) I recently purchased a Revoltech Gurren Lagann figure as well as a Shiranui Mai (of King of Fighters fame) figure, and will post pictures of it eventually ( Though I’m of two minds about this because my Mai figure is a little dodgy :P). I also got a few new artbooks, so I’ll take a few photos of the covers and some of the contents (no IÂ will not scan it) some time in the future.
6) Bunch of new series started airing this season, some of the ones I will be mentioning include Hayate 2nd Season, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Basquash! (Boobsquash :S), Eden of the East and K-On (not limited to these titles). Since they’re none of these are completed titles, I won’t be giving a full review (which I might not even bother with -____-) but I will talk a bit about what the shows are about, their strong and weak points etc.
7) The Weekly Watchers of Wonderful Anime (WWWA) club has started it’s own podcast (thanks to Jeroz) and I will post some links to the podcasts directly from the 3WA Podcast blog. Check out the link for more info if you’re actually reading this blog after such a long period of silence.
8) I started reading a new series called the Ender Saga (Ender’s Game, Speaker For The Dead, Xenocide are the ones I’ve read) by Orson Scott Card. A good read, I will mention that at some point.
9) I started playing the old Megaman X games after I started playing Megaman Zero and Megaman ZX Advent (ZXA was a replay, i.e. I finished it over a year ago). This deserves an entire post of its own because it’s Megaman X for crying out loud!! (I’m a fanboy m(_ Â _)m ). Will be posting some gameplay thingies and related story :3
Note: For your information, I’m triple booting into Windows XP (in case shit happens), Windows 7 and Ubuntu, and all of them have their pros and cons. While I have yet to try out and OSX variations, I do intend to do so some time in the future, at least to be able to give a fair opinion as to which I prefer if not to gather trolling material *cough*.
Since there’s a lot of ground to cover, I might group a few topics together in a single post (not all of the above) depending on how long the article turns out to be (i.e. if it’s too long I’ll dedicate an entire post to it etc). Expect to see a few things mentioned in an UPDATES post or something, since there’re quite a few things that happened since my last post :P
If anything else comes to mind I’ll mention it. This post will serve as a checklist of sorts so that I can check off the items that I feel ought to be mentioned here. Till then!
