This would be the first effective customization session I’ll be having on the blog since the big move to Tom’s server. The reason behind the delay was that for some reason or other, I could not connect to Tom’s ftp server, effectively preventing me from accessing the folders I needed to upload the themes onto. Now that I’m back home however, I can finally access the ftp server, and so I’ve been trying out new themes for the blog.

At first, the theme you all saw before this was uploaded by Henry (Hectic3 in my blogroll) just so that I could check if it was only me who was unable to access the ftp server. That was apparently the case. >_<

Anyway, I’ve been looking out for new themes and the such, but a lot of my searches produced rather generic, unsuitable or plain boring themes that just would not do the job. Eventually, after mucking around with the themes and editing a few php files here and there (mostly for the inclusion of the favicon you can now see next to the site address in the address bar and/or tab, depending on your browser), I eventually found a site in one of the themes’ readme.txt files, which lead me to http://freethemelayouts.com/, which had quite a few nice themes for me to check out. So many, in fact, that I’m thinking of just removing all the themes I’ve already uploaded via ftp to make room for these (I’ve only got 20MB of space to use of Tom’s server for my blog).

So, with some Macross Frontier lossless music playing, off I go doing what I love to do best. Mess with things that ain’t broken :3 Feedback will be much appreciated.
